Out of Surgery back into ICU

Jennifer, I just saw your post and we apologize we didn't post again. The surgery was over about 1am our time and the Doctors said it went fine. They said they started a little late and wanted to make sure they took as many precautions during the surgery as they could- this is why it took longer than expected. I snuck into ICU with one of the doctors- of course with Dr. Sabash Gupta's permission. I spoke to dad for a few minutes and he was disappointed when I told him they are keeping him in ICU today to make sure everything went well with the surgery last night. He was talking and aware of things going on around him, but sleeping when I first walked into the room. I really pray they get him well soon. We have the duty Doctor's cell phone number and they said they will give it to dad from 7-7:30am and 4-4:30 so we can talk to him. The connection seems to be better on the cell phone. I hope this works.
Neysa and I went to the hospital this morning and I had another interview with an Indian news television station. It was a fun interview because it was interactive with Dr. Sabash Gupta. They didn't know exactly when it will air nor did they have a business card to give us about the station. Dr. Gupta said he would get me the information when it becomes available. The interview was made for the Apollo hospital to have the Indian people gain knowledge about living donor liver transplants. Before me they interviewed a Doctor from the hospital who had a liver transplant 5 months ago.

I have my internet working now, so what questions do you have?

  1. I'm really happy to hear that all went well and that your dad is doing much better. Honestly. all of these things that have been popping up have been things that I think some of us have been expecting, but have been praying against due to the nature of the beast. Now that we all continue to receive good news once the news comes and goes we all feel relieved that things continue to move progressively forward in an improved direction. The two of you ladies are incredible and have done such an amazing job so just keep the faith and know that we're all here...100%... Without a doubt, your family and friends who love you more than anything in this entire world!!! We support all you do and everything you stand for at this time!! Sweet dreams my beautiful cousins...I love you both so much! Drina

  2. Hey Mike! Greetin's from Colorado! Just saw Susan last night at America's Soul Live in Arvada, and I asked about you, so she filled me in on your latest adventures there, and sent me your blog to follow you with. I am so glad to know that your surgery was a success, and I'm sending my healing thoughts and prayers for your little kidneys to get back on track on their own here quickly, so you can get off dialysis, and get back home! It's also very good to know that your daughter is healing well, and taking such great care of you as well. Just wanted to say howdy, and let you know that we are all pullin' for ya here!! Hugs to you, Patty Clayton

  4. Hi Renee, Neysa and Mike,
Hang in there brother. You're proving to be quite the fighter and we all know you must be frustrated from time to time, but you really are making progress each and every day.
Looks like I will be making travel plans to give the girls a break and to be there for you in your recovery.
I should be there hopefully around the 3'rd or 4'th and can't wait to see you! Continue to get better and I'll see you soon!
    Brother Dave

Ha-Ha--HAAAAAAA-O-Aommmmmm...Ummm, jus' foolin'!!! Bet you thought I was a guru or something, Huh!? (Tee-Hee!) Isn't that wierd-that little written "tee-hee" thing...reminds me of reading some kinda comic when I was a kid! Well just trying to make you laugh, cause there's only so many times, (& ways)-that one can say, "Hang in there!" But DO...hang in there I mean, Cause WE ALL ARE TOO! And praying really really really hard, that you are gonna be Groovy soon Mike! In every way...Bless you all!
It's Earth Day here--anybody celebrate Earth Day over there in India? I went to an E-Day service at church tonite-Prayed for Peace--and YOU, while listening to the sounds that eight -(Tibetan?)- crystal bowls make when they vibrate--simply amazing! I think it should be "EArth Day" EVERY day!
Thought I'd send a short poem to you that I found in a book of poetry by a famous poet named Kabir...a fifteenth century son of weavers, born in Varanasi, who probably studied meditative and devotional practices, and was generally assumed to be illiterate...

So you want to be a monk?
    Don't play until your ripe.
If you crush half-grown mustard seeds,
you get neither oil nor pulp.

    Well, that's it...bet you're glad it wasn't one of mine! I love you guys, X's & O's!

  7. Hello Ladies! Sorry its been a few days since I last posted. I've been in transit with my travels back to the states and have been busy catching up with the family, but I'm still following the blog morning and night. This morning I went to bible study with my mom for the first time. I met all the ladies in the bible study who knew all about me, however I have never met them. As it turns out I have been in their prayers for many years now. Thought that was pretty cool. It just goes to show you that you never know whose praying for you, even perfect strangers :)

I came across some scriptures on healing and I just wanted to share them with you as well as my thoughts while reading them.

These next few scriptures below made me think about the "multitude" of people on this blog who are praying for Mike and Renee's recovery and how favorable that would be to God. To think there are prayer requests coming from all over the world (Cabo, Denver, India...and everywhere else!)

"And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick." (Matthew 14:14)

"... who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases, as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed. And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all." (Luke 6:17)

"But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing." (Luke 9:11)

"Now Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of diseases among the people." (Matthew 4:23)

This next set of scriptures talks about how God anoints us with the powers to heal. These scriptures made me think about Neysa and how important her role is in all of this. I just instantly thought about all the love, care, concern, and the positive energy and thoughts that you are focussing on healing your father and sisters wounds.

"And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease." (Matthew 10:1)

"Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them." (Acts 19:11)

"And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid hands on him and healed him." (Acts 28:8)

These next verses I included because they speak about how important the power of prayer is in healing and that is where all of us bloggers play a important partin Mike and Renee's recovery.

"Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray." (James 5:13)

"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." (James 5:14)

And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid his hands on him and healed him." (Acts 28:8)

"The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." (James 5:16)

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7)

"Yet you do not have because you do not ask." (James 4:2)

This last set of scriptures are about the importance of having faith and belief that God can actually heal.

... the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith let it be to you." And their eyes were opened. (Matthew 9:28)

Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (Matthew 15:28)

... for she said to herself, "If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well." But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, "Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well." (Matthew 9:21)

Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that same hour. (Matthew 8:13)

And Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" The blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, that I may receive my sight." Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight ... (Mark 10:51)

"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." (Mark 11:24)

"And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people." (Acts 6:8)

"And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong ... Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all." (Acts 3:16)

Ok well thats it for the bible study lesson today (LOL) :) As always I send you my love, hugs and kisses, and prayers! Oh and positive healing energy!!!

  8. Thanks Renee. I spoke with our friend Gil and he is in Jerusalem. He told me that he would pray for my dad and sister at the wailing wall. And Rita... that was seriously funny. Thank-you.

  9. Dear Neysa, Renee and Mike,
While I was reading the post Cabo Nay just put in last night, it came to me loud and clear that all there is to do now is put your dad's recovery in God's hands and pray. The events leading up to this has spoken it also, such as neither of you being let in to see your dad . . . it's like God is saying "leave it to me and he will be healed" in His own way and His own time. It may not be the way we want Mike to be healed but God's plan always has a purpose. So eventhough you guys are doing your best to be there for him and take care of him, it is really all in God's hands. Your faith in Him is going to be what pulls all of you through right now.

I want to say a word of thanks to my two sons, Tosh and Miguel, who have been sitting along the sidelines of this blog, watching every day. Thanks for chiming in once in a while. They have been a great support for Renee and Neysa as they talk to them every day on their web cams. What a great piece of technology. Thank you guys for allowing your wives to be there with their dad. You are all giving so much. I love you.

Must get ready to go to work. I love you guys and I'm choosing to believe that everything is going just as it should. Also saying many prayers of thanks for all of the miracles that have happened so far. Love and prayers always. -Mom OXOXOXOXOXOXXO
